Tennessee boating accident closes river temporarily

July 29, 2010

We hear about Tennessee auto accidents all the time, but Tennessee boating accidents are a bit less common. However, the results of a Tennessee boating accident can be very similar to the results of a car accident: damages and closures.

As a result of a Tennessee boating accident on the Mississippi river, the river was temporarily closed, according to The Commercial Appeal.

The Tennessee boating accident occurred when a barge and a towboat collided, causing a chemical spill, fire, and river closure.

The Tennessee boating accident could have caused environmental damages to the river due to the spilling of acrylonitrile at the scene.

Three men were taken to the hospital as a result of the Tennessee boating accident.

Coumadin could cause Jackson drug injuries

It seems the list of problems with prescription medications gets longer all the time. The latest prescription medication recall comes from drug manufacturer Bristol-Meyer Squibb Co. regarding changing amounts of an ingredient in the blood thinner Coumadin and is feared to cause Jackson drug injuries, according to WAPT.

Coumadin packaged with expiration dates between June 2011 and November 2012 is affected by the recall because it may contain amounts of isopropanol that could change over time.

Because of the risk of Jackson drug injuries accompanying this changing amount of isopropanol, the units are being recalled. Jackson drug injury risks associated with units containing too little isopropanol include blood clots, but for units containing too much isopropanol the risk is excessive bleeding.

However, no Jackson drug injuries or side effects have been reported at this time.

Smoke inhalation and high blood pressure sent the 45-year-old firefighter to the hospital and could lead to Memphis workers’ compensation.

The work-related injury victim’s injuries were not life-threatening but Memphis workers’ compensation could still help with his loss.
