Transportation data shows that the worst drivers in the U.S. are in the southeast

SmartAsset, a New York based personal finance technology company, released a study that reveals where the worst drivers in the country live. According to data compiled from the Insurance Research Council, the Federal Highway Administration, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, these drivers tend to live in the Southeast.

The study ranked states according to such factors as drunk driving arrests, speeding tickets, and fatal accidents. The states that scored the worst at these factors included Mississippi, Florida, and Texas.

Insurance Information Institute, Loretta Worters, notes a correlation between a state’s insurance prices and its number of bad drivers. Florida and New Jersey, which are two of the most expensive states with regards to car insurance, are also homes to some of the country’s worst drivers.

If you’ve had personal experience with some of these bad drivers, the personal injury attorneys at John Michael Bailey Injury Lawyers can help you navigate the legal system and receive compensation. Call our offices today at 888-WE-FIGHT.
