Gulf oil spill could cause Mississippi environmental injuries

The impact of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico seems to be increasing daily, with more land and water being threatened by the spill. Now Mississippi can be added to the list of states that felt the impact of the spill.

According to WMCTV, oil has reached Mississippi for the first time since the oil spill over a month ago.  A two-mile long, three-feet wide strand of oil can be seen on a barrier island bordering Mississippi, which means the state and its residents could be at risk for Mississippi environmental injuries.

Alfalfa sprouts are Mississippi defective products

Nissan recalls vehicles for Mississippi defective products

Memphis auto accident at police station

It’s not uncommon to hear of auto accidents in which drivers crash into buildings or other stationary objects, but it’s not often that that object is a police station. According to WREG, that’s exactly what happened during one Memphis auto accident.

The Memphis auto accident occurred when a 36-year-old woman who is thought to suffer from mental illness crashed her car into a police station twice.

Police suspect the motive was anger, though no more details have been released. The woman does face charges of attempted second-degree murder because they believe the Memphis auto accident was intentional.

Mississippi drug injury may spawn Mississippi medical malpractice case

According to WLOX, the Narcotics Task Force is investigating a doctor for his involvement in a patient’s Mississippi drug injury death. The patient, a 32-year-old man, died and an autopsy revealed a drug overdose of pain medication as the cause.

The Mississippi drug injury was caused by large amounts of Vicodin, morphine, and Xanax, and those drugs were prescribed by a doctor who has been under investigation for a while.

Memphis auto accident knocks out power

The roads were slick due to weather conditions, and one driver slid off the road and struck a nearby power pole.

The impact of the Memphis car accident caused the pole to snap in half and the lines to fall into the street.

Authorities said the driver involved in the Tennessee car accident was not seriously hurt.

Mississippi auto accident kills two

The Clarksdale Press Register reported that a Mississippi car accident last week took the lives of a mother and her daughter.

The women were riding down the road when the vehicle they were traveling in blew a tire and overturned.

The driver of the car and another passenger were taken to a local hospital to be treated for various injuries sustained in the Mississippi auto accident.

The other two passengers died from injuries suffered in the Mississippi car accident.

Teen dies in Memphis auto accident

A recent Memphis car accident claimed the life of a local teen, according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

The teen was driving a sport utility vehicle when a tractor-trailer made a left turn into the path of his SUV.  The teen drove into the semi, causing the Tennessee car accident.

The boy died from injuries sustained in the Memphis auto accident.

The truck driver suffered some injuries in the Memphis car accident and was taken to a local hospital to be treated.
