State suing Astrazeneca over Seroquel’s risk for Mississippi drug injuries

Mississippi is standing up against a drug company due to the potential for Mississippi drug injuries because the state believes Astrazeneca lied about its drug Seroquel.

According to NEMS360, Mississippi feels Astrazeneca lied about the benefits of the antipsychotic drug and that it did not inform patients about the risk for Mississippi drug injuries such as weight gain and diabetes.

Mississippi claims this falsification and lack of information about the risk for Mississippi drug injuries led to the loss of Mississippi Medicaid funds that were used to treat patients.
